Because most of my mental energy has been zapped today by some rather messy and exhausting personal issues, I'm going to do another shameless ripoff.
I came across this great post about how to grab a reader/agent from the first page. I thought it was so great that I decided to pass it along to all of you out there in blogosphere.
Hope you're all having a great Tuesday. Hopefully my post on Thursday will be a bit more inspired.

Great advice on drawing the reader in to our stories. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for posting this. I found that link very helpful!
What a great post, Angela! Thanks for sharing. And thanks for dropping by my blog, too!
Thank you for posting in the midst of your struggles. I hope your issues get resolved soon. :o)
I'm glad you did!!! This post was awesome and I hope that you recover from the personal issues soon!!
Thanks for the link to that article, Angie. I've been working on page one, chapter one and I'm excited to say my opening scene follows their guidelines perfectly!! Whoo-hoo!!
Thanks for the article. It was great. I've been working on my page one forever (or so it seems). I think I am on revision 17?!? Congrats to you as well for your little arrival in June and for visiting my blog!
Thanks to all of you for visiting and commenting. I'm so glad you enjoyed the post I linked to. It was one of the most helpful things I've read in a long time. As for the personal issues, well they've come and like all other things they'll also go. It's just a matter of time. Nicole, I'm so glad your first page follows their guidelines. Isn't that such a great feeling when you know that you and the experts are on the same page (no pun intended)? Kelly, thanks so much for reciprocating on following. Good luck with your revision. 17th times the charm, right? :^)
I'm new to your blog. Good stuff.
I have a couple of books I'd like to publish. I tried the query business for a few months but gave up, deciding to focus on a new book. Lately, I've been considering self publishing. There have been more than a few self published successes as of late. Is this something you;ve considered
